Associate users to a space when registering

When the user logs in and selects an option from the drop-down, he/she will automatically access the project associated to that field, and will be able to see only the courses and tests assigned to the project.


Let's see an example.

In our platform we have introductory courses, but also courses for managers and external users.

The employee John registers on the platform. He is a manager, so he selects this option in the "Position" field. When he registers, he will be taken directly to the available courses. As you can see, now he only sees the courses for managers.

What are the advantages of using the associate user to registration feature?

  1. Broaden your value proposition: Segment your training according to different profiles, by city, job, profession, etc.
  2. Save time: it will no longer be necessary to upload, prepare csv lists to associate them to their corresponding projects according to their profile. This option allows you to do it automatically.
  3. A more optimal user experience: With this option active it will not be necessary to send a specific link to the project landing page to all the users you want to assign. They only need to log in and register from the main website.

Let's see now how to manage this functionality in the backend. It is very simple.

  1.     First of all, this option is only available if there is at least one drop-down field in the registration. To add it we will go to Configuration> Record fields, and we will add a new field.
  2.     Let's go back to Daily management to create our new project.
  3.     Go to Space > Projects and click on create a new project.
  4.     We enter all the necessary information: project name, slug, associated group and so on.
  5.     At the end of everything, we will see the new functionality of associating user to the record.
  6.     First, we should select the field of the record. We will choose charge.
  7.     In this way, the second step will be enabled, where we will have to select the option that the user chooses. We choose "Manager".
  8.     Save and that's it.


With this, when a user registers and puts "Manager" as an answer to the "Position" field, he/she will automatically become part of this project.
